The Islamic Republic security forces have surrounded the home of 78-year-old Gohar Eshghi, mother of Sattar Beheshti, a blogger who was killed under torture while in police custody in 2012.

Eshghi had planned to stage a protest outside the

UN office in Tehran on Monday to denounce the ongoing harassment of families seeking justice for their loved ones.
Her son, Sattar Beheshti, was an Iranian blogger who gained international attention after his death in 2012 while in police custody. He was arrested for his online criticism of the government. Beheshti died under torture just a few days after his arrest, sparking outrage within Iran and internationally.
"They threatened me yesterday and said, 'Your mother will soon wear black because you don't shut your big mouth," Beheshti wrote a day before his arrest.
His mother, Gohar Eshghi, has since become a symbol of resistance, continuing to seek justice for her son's death and speaking out against the government's oppression.
