بر اساس گزارش‌ نهادهای حقوق بشری، حدود ۱۵۰۰ زندانی محکوم به اعدام در زندان قزلحصار کرج از روز از ۲۲ تیر در اعتراض به انتقال محکومان به سلول‌های انفرادی و ادامه اجرای احکام اعدام دست به اعتصاب غذا زده‌اند؛ اعتراضی که در روزهای بعد گسترش یافت و با شعار “نه به اعدام” ادامه پیدا کرد.

گزارش‌ها از وخامت وضعیت جسمی شماری از اعتصاب‌کنندگان، از جمله ضعف شدید، افت فشار و کاهش وزن حکایت دارد و حتی تصاویری از زندانیانی منتشر شده که در اعتراض لب‌های خود را دوخته‌اند. این اعتصاب در امتداد اعتراض‌های پیشین زندانیان قزلحصار علیه اعدام است؛ مکانی که در سال‌های اخیر به یکی از کانون‌های مهم جنبش “نه به اعدام” در زندان‌های ایران تبدیل شده است.

According to reports, around 1,500 death-row prisoners at Ghezel Hesar Prison near Karaj began a hunger strike on 13 July 2026, protesting the transfer of prisoners sentenced to death to solitary confinement and the continued implementation of executions. The protest has continued under the slogan “No to Executions,” amid reports of prisoners suffering from severe weakness, low blood pressure and weight loss. Some prisoners have reportedly sewn their lips shut in protest. The hunger strike is part of a broader wave of resistance against executions in Iran, with Ghezel Hesar Prison having become one of the main centres of the “No to Executions” movement among prisoners in recent years.
